My parents are both high achievers, and I grew up in a rather oppressive family atmosphere. They have always had high expectations for me, hoping that I could become the perfect child they envision. However, most of the time, I just want to live freely and follow my own desires.
When I started middle school, I found that there were times when I had no interest in anything and I often felt lost and meaningless, which was accompanied by procrastination and appearance anxiety. At first I thought these troubles were from nihilism, but when I looked up some papers I learned that these symptoms were from "puberty syndrome." Later with the intervention and advice of my friends, I tried to change my lifestyle and successfully felt that I had a positive change. So I drew a picture book which tells the process of my experience and overcoming puberty syndrome.
I was born in Hong Kong and spent my elementary school years there. After that, I lived in many different cities. These varied experiences made me realize that living in Hong Kong is quite different from living in many other places in China... Hong Kong people are also quite distinct from the people I have encountered elsewhere. Overall, they give off a much more repressed feeling.
