Take an Apple is a short animated film of approximately three minutes that explores the relationship between individuals and their families (a micro-society). The central theme focuses on the shift in power dynamics within the family as children grow up, particularly the gradual transfer of authority from parents to children. Set against the backdrop of China's one-child policy, the work reflects on how this policy has influenced family structures and values. Drawing from the creator's personal family experiences, the film highlights the generational differences in perceptions of familial relationships and the evolving balance of power within the family.
In medicine, we generally consider brain death as the moment of a person's passing. In everyday observation, people often determine if someone has died by checking whether their pupils have dilated, or sometimes by seeing if their breathing has ceased. However, these events don't usually occur simultaneously. This project extends that time frame to explore when death truly begins. I believe death is not an instantaneous event; it is like time—it has always accompanied you. It has no beginning and no end. This project, through a zine, reflects my exploration of the timing of death.
This project focuses on materialism, idealism, and dualism to investigate the existence and duration of the soul, thus tends to illustrate the bond between body and soul.

The work uses garden iron decoration, mirrors and curtains to create a red space in which the epiphany and introspection of self-awareness are explored.
