What I want to show is a social image on a psychological level. This landscape is closely related to the stress I feel in my life. I will use the form of sculpture to express my feelings and then visualize the emotions, extracting important visual elements, manifesting them on a certain space and giving a sense of oppression.
In the early stages of creating this project, I focused on the social issue of commodification. In an era of high human classification, we always reap the benefits of top-down scrutiny and savour the pain of being objectified. I tried to express in this sculpture for the visualisation of social oppression, and the expression of the commodification of human beings.
This theme explores the cyclical process of life and death. I drew inspiration from the ancient Japanese "Kusōzu" (Nine Stages of Decay) artistic expression and extended it by incorporating innovative painting techniques. Through these visual representations, I aim to convey the transition between the fading of life and its rebirth, as well as the exchange of energy between the two. This transformation also reflects my personal journey, much like the different stages of life, where the end of experiences and relationships always brings about a new beginning.
As a sufferer of depersonalisation, I have noticed that this relatively niche mental illness is difficult for the masses to understand or administer attention to. In this project, I hope to make more people empathise with this particular illness by using clothing and interactive dynamic design to represent the symptoms in a visual mode.
In the process of building a personal cognitive system, it is inevitable for all people not to be held hostage by external information. I wanted to build an interactive installation to allow the viewer to feel the irresistible, unconscious, reinforced value instillation. The spherical containers themselves represent different social information carriers, the liquids in them represent different information, and through the flow of the liquids, the information dovetails with each other. Temperature-changing materials, glow-in-the-dark materials, and chemical reagents are all used as mediums for carrying information, and the effect is produced when they are fused.
