I use oil painting, points of light, and blurring effects to represent stuffed animals, plants, and some old objects. For me, these works are a kind of reminiscence of my childhood, as well as a memory of the objects that once gave me a sense of security.
In this project, I delved deeply into the expressions and emotions surrounding hoarding in my life. Initially, I collected images related to hoarding and created a series of paintings by rearranging and reorganizing these images. In addition to oil painting, I actively explored the use of collage and mixed media. By combining magazine research with my personal experiences, I ultimately created an oil painting that I am particularly proud of. My final work not only transcended the limitations of traditional painting but also thoroughly explored the unique characteristics of the artist's style, as well as the innovative use of fabric and synthetic materials, resonating with the audience both visually and tactilely.
My project aims to explore and experience perception in depth, particularly the visual and auditory senses. These two senses are the areas I am most sensitive to, so I hope to amplify these feelings through art so that I can share them with the audience. The project is divided into four parts, with a variety of mediums such as painting, stop-motion animation, and installation art to express my understanding of the visual and auditory experience from different perspectives.
In this project, I boldly attempted a new painting form to enhance self-confidence. I reviewed the abstract paintings from my childhood, which represented the most confident period. After studying the works of artists, I selected some characteristic childhood paintings with affirmative lines and large color blocks. To create more excellent works, I learned silk screen printing technology to replicate and retain childhood works on cardboard with different colors of ink. This process expanded the creative approach and enhanced the confidence and skills in artistic expression. This project allowed me to find a new direction and inspiration in artistic creation and a deeper understanding of my creative style and technical choices.
