The glorious Lingnan Ancestral Hall was once used to highlight the glory of the family and the teaching of the children of the family, but with the dilution of the concept of religious rites, its ritual activities are greatly reduced, and its large volume and towering walls make the family name race passively excluded from the rest of the population, crowded and segregated a large amount of public space, the use of inefficiency, and has become a discarded but tasteless large volume of the historical building complex.

The project is a waterfront sustainable landscape design, the site is located in the new district of Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province, about 2.5 hectares of waterfront wasteland. Through the field research of the site, 4 major problems were found:1. Low utilisation; the site has been derelict for many years and is overgrown with large quantities of fisheries and agricultural rubbish.2. Poor accessibility;, the lack of roads makes it very difficult for people to pass through the site3. Flooding; due to the site being in the subtropics, it rains all year round, especially during the rainy season which can lead to floods, making it easy to crisis the safety of the local villages. 4. Economic development is low; because most of the local young adults are flocking to the big city development, so that the traditional industries are abandoned, such as: fishing, agriculture, no one to develop and the lack of land.
