The project is located at the beginning of the southemn end of Qianmen Commercial Street, the central axis of Beiling. The central axis is an important urban planning concept in Beiing from ancient times to the present day.The axis covers a wide range of original building types and spaces. This design aspires to give visitors a different museum experience, from the facade efect and internal space changes to let visitors feel the different visual spatial efects of Beiling's central axis in the interior in order to satisfy the function and at the same time combine with the unbuit underground entrance of the city planning, reserve the space for the platform and exit of the underground, and in order to better combine with the site, keep the original existence of the site of five steps, hope that new and old tourists can find the shadow of the Central Axis in this place.
The project site is located in Suzhou, also known as "Litle Bridge and Flowing Water, at the south-east outlet of the outer moat of the old city of Suzhou. This is a city that was born on water, but now that these epitomes of water life are disappearing, we hope to revitalise waterlife and explore new water veins by rebuilding the city's high density. Tln order to better integrate the new additions into the city and residents' lives, we plan to carry out the redevelopment in three phases, starting with the island and eventually radiating to cover the whole site. Based on the three levels: water-friendly, water-adiacent and water-viewing to build three diferent strategies to adapt to the water life, we try to introduce the original water system into the site to form a tidalmarket park, optimise the linear food street to revive the residents' life, and build a water catchment network to create an eco-integrated community.
In polar Greenland, a people originated from here called the Inuit. They made friends with the extreme cold weather and obtained resources for survival through primitive hunting. With the development of a capitalist society and the intensi-fication ofextreme weather, the culture and survival ofthe[nuit is graduallythreatened .Some residents no longer wishto hunt for a living and prefer to seek a stable job, whilethers want to put down their traditional roots. The differentchoices made by the two factions of locals affect the futuredevelopment ofGreenland. That's why I'm trying to build an 'eternal glacier' here, in the hope that by bringing in tourists we can balance the two groups, and that tourists will lead to more economic development possibilities and reduce the economic pressure onthe locals. I take the melting of the glacier as the starting point of the design, and divide the whole into three systems: s, m and l.According to the characteristics of the three groups of people, I give them three types of functions, such as hotels, experiencing work and living. The spatial design and functional arrangement are examined with the starting point of improving tourists'experience and reducing the local economic burden. Many times the emergence and disappearance of culture is not decided by us, maybe the lnuit will really disappear in the future, at least this building can let the world remember that there is such a nation and culture.Of course, I hope this day will never come.
