Coloane lsland is relatively quiet compared to other areas in Macau,which is in sharp contrast to the busy pace of the city. The site selection of this project takes into account the need for a place to relax away from the hustle and bustle for the unemployed and those under great pressure in life.By focusing on the emotional problems of migrant workers in Macau, people who come to a strange city can cuddle with local stray cats in Macau and seek a warm shelter from each other.At the same time,the project provides spiritual comfort for lonely and anxious people by coexisting with stray cats,and emphasizes the harmonious relationship between people,nature and animals.
Located at Macau's Lai Chi Vun Shipyard, this adaptive reuse project brings the area's maritime heritage to life. At its core, a VR experience center immerses visitors in the shipyard's past, showcasing historical scenes and traditional shipbuilding crafts. The building's design, inspired by a ship's form with streamlined roofs and curved walls, reflects its historical roots.
The vision for the project was to create a living monument - a space where history is not only preserved but where the community is actively engaged. The layered and fragmented structure of the original site reflectsthe historical stratification of the site, echoing how the original castle wasbuilt and evolved over the centuries.
