During my undergraduate study, l gradually realized that l prefer toput ideas into practice, even though my earlier designsoften took a different approach.
Industrial design focuses on problem-solving and requiresknowledge from disciplines like structural engineering and mechanics. In contrast, l am more drawn to jewelry design, as it allows me todraw inspiration from within and incorporate my personal experiencesinto my work. This pursuit is both a quest for beauty anda means of self-expression.
Thus, l began designing jewelry in my spare time at university anddeveloped metalworking skills. This process not only provided mewith a sense of accomplishment but also motivated me to exploremy creativity further. For me, the essence of design exists intransforming concepts into reality, which demands problem-solvingabilities and self-discovery of the inner world. Therefore, l attempted to inject the characteristics of industrial designinto jewelry design, hoping that through this fusion, l could add more
layers of meaning and value to jewelry pieces.
Compare drinking to a game of exploring balance. The balance that you want to maintain by drinkingrequires the imbalance (imbalance) caused by the body after drinking. The process of pursuing innerbalance at the expense of physical balance is a kind of balance.
Societal expectations have surrounded me since birth, as if a path has been laid outfor me to follow towards a bright future. But is this truly what l want? l often reflecton my life, feeling suffocated by these pressures, which l believe limit my potential.
I yearn to break free from these constraints, yet l am concerned about the realities ofdoing so. In truth, making such a decision is not easy. l find myself wondering: what ifI could ignore societal expectations entirely?
This project focuses on how accessoriesinteract with the skin, specifically onimproving the fit of accessories with the skin.
As a male designer, l made an effort toapproach it from a female perspective, recognizing that body shapes and fitpreferences vary from person to person.carefully examined how accessories interactwith the skin, aiming to reduce discomfortand ensure a more natural fit.
Through this series of designs, l hope tocreate a more comfortable and personalizedwearing experience for users.
