My mom started working at a garment factory when I was six months old. Every day, I would wait for her only phone call of the day. Later, during my internship at the factory, I noticed many mothers bringing their one- or two-year-old children to work. Even though some mothers in manufacturing factories are able to bring their children, the factory environment raises serious concerns about the children's safety. This sparked my desire to help these working mothers with peace of mind while ensuring that their children can play safely.
The inspiration for this project comes from the grassland nomadic tribes and the gathering places in the nomadic cities that we passed by during the journey. Through the research on pastoral life and nomadic artworks, the harmonious coexistence of nomads and grasslands is shown. And through the transformation of nomadic urban life, the concept of "urban nomadism" is integrated - people who love to contact with nature, take pets for walks and camp in the city. The project will combine the concept of urban nomadism with the structure of clothing to reflect the integration of people, nature and animals.
The inspiration comes from nostalgia for breakfast culture in my hometown. During my four years university life in London, I missed the most was the steam and the aroma of frying in the small breakfast restaurant, I can only miss the warm and mellow taste in my dream. Therefore, this project will show Chinese breakfast culture, and reflect the Chinese people's love of the lively dining lifestyle and their love of home and countryside scenery.
The project was inspired by movie 'A rainy day in New York', which tells the story of the male protagonist Gatsby searching for love in the rain. The rain represents his understanding of love. Rainy days give people cold and eerie feeling, but I really enjoy the relaxation they bring me. Therefore, this project explores the atmosphere of couples in the rain to express another style of rainy weather - relaxed romance and enjoyment.
