一场维密大秀之前，模特们需要训练128天才能上台。香奈儿大秀倒计时7天的时候，布景才刚进场。到底一场fashion show需要多久才能搬上T台？服装设计师的第一场show又有多重要？你见过4天就准备出fashion show吗？能设计出成衣，excuse me？
偏偏，中央圣马丁教授David就带着我们的小伙伴们这么干了！
在这短短几天的项目中，David超高效对小伙伴们进行专业指导，从基础手稿点评到成衣大片、T台走秀，亲眼见过才觉得震撼！让我们来一同回顾这场神奇大秀的准备过程吧~
Project description
Using resources that you have readily available around you, you will do a complete project where you will research, design and make an outfit as well as presenting your ideas and putting on a fashion show all in 5 days!
Day 1 - Research
It is important that primary research (primary research is research that you have created) forms the basis of this project. All too often we are seeing too many images taken from the internet – this research is not personal and can be boring!
With this in mind we will visit a place of visual interest and we will spend the day creating our own visual imagery through sketching and some photography – but with emphasis on drawing!!!!
You will be required to do lots of observational investigative drawing where we will be focusing on shape, colour, pattern and texture.
The more drawing you do the richer the rest of the project will be.
You will need to bring an A3 or A4 sketch book and various medium to draw with – pencils, colour pencils/ pastels, watercolours – anything that you can easily carry and enjoy working in.
It is important that you have something to draw/paint with in colour as well as black.

Day 2, – Design Development
Looking at the drawing that you have did yesterday you must now start developing ideas for garments – Explore shape, colour, texture and pattern.
We will look at the design work that you have started to do and advise on how to develop your ideas further. Again, this will be done with extensive drawing/collaging of ideas.
You will need access to a photocopier or printer.
Please bring your art equipment as well as scissors and glue.

Day 3, – 3D Realisation of Idea
You will choose a design that you would like to make in 3D.
Working on a dress stand and using materials that are readily available to you, which can include paper, cardboard, plastic bags, anything that you can easily find, as well as fabric, you will start to make your chosen design. Be inventive with your materials!
How you choose to build your outfit is up to you – the garment does not have to be sewn, it can be glued, stapled, taped etc.
What is important is that you work quickly and are experimental and inventive.

Day 4 – Photoshoot and Fashion Show
You will do a photographic shoot of your outfit on a model of your choice (You can use your phone to take the photographs) You must fully style the outfit with accessories, also think about hair and make-up.

Day 5 – Presentation of Work and Critique
You will work on presenting your work to portfolio standard. You must show examples of your complete process- research, design development and final garment made.
You will need A3 sheets of paper to present your work on as well as glue, scissors etc.
We will have a look at the work together and critique the final outcomes.
What is important is that you work quickly and are experimental and inventive.
